It's just plain dreamy. It's two miles from our home, public (and therefore free), and just right for our dd's LOG. Every other classroom is moderately cognitively impaired children and they often team up with the gifted children as reading buddies or to do other activities.
The gifted classrooms are multi-age and have a lower student teacher ratio than other buildings in our district.
I learned that DD will skip first grade math and start out in second grade math with the possibility of acceleration.
They do 8-10 field trips a year, some with the CI kids, some alone.
DD was so sad to have to go back to her old school to finish up kindergarten! We're delighted to have found a school that looks like such a great fit. They promise deeper learning, not just extra work. The older kids we met with yesterday and today were poised, articulate and funny; DD was thrilled to be escorted around the school for a tour by them.
We are so fortunate!
