OK, maybe I'm just going crazy now trying to figure out what is going on with ds6 but I was in his classroom this week and while I was there kept feeling sicker and sicker - the room is hot and stuffy and there is this terrible air freshener smell. I was so happy to get out of there and breath the cold outside air (it triggered a headache though that sent me to bed for the rest of the day). Ds is at his worst in that room - he is spacey and zoned out. He seems better with all the other parts of school that don't take place in that room. There are still issues outside the classroom but they aren't as bad. Anyone else have issues with this?

It sounds quite reasonable to me. A large number of people in a small space - it could easily get stuffy enough to make you sick. Some people are a lot more sensitive to it than others. If the teacher wasn't even aware of it, it might be like that a lot.

My mother and I have always been sensitive to perfumes so much that if can irritate our nose and give headaches. I would approch the teacher about this.

Thanks! Funny thing about the whole things was that dd3 was the one who helped me figure it out - I told her I had a headache and she said "have you been around anyone who was wearing perfume?" I did find this article too.

I can really identify with the "spacing out" thread too with ds6
