I was wondering if there any parents that could help me, I'm in 8th grade was wondering about self studying a harder math class? I've finished geometry and algebra 2 and I was wondering how I should proceed. One of my friends is in the same position so we could learn the material together. Thanks for your time!

Go to http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/ . Ask them for a personal recommendation. Meanwhile, look under the bookstore tab at the Intermediate Algebra text (written to be self-teaching) and under the school tab at the schedule for the "Algebra 3" class. Consider whether you'd also like to study Counting and Probability or Number Theory or problem-solving more generally/competition math. Note that the website also has extensive forums. Have fun!

If you are looking for online self study, you might look at aleks. (http://www.aleks.com/) You do have to pay to use this website, and it doesn't have that many courses above algebra II. I thought it used to have more college level math courses, but it's recently been sold to McGrawHill and I'm not sure anymore.

BTW traditionally most high schools there is a year precalculus/trigonometry that comes after alebra II and then Calculus. Statistics is often taught in high schools without Calculus. Discrete mathematics or Lineral Alegbra are other optional math classes that don't need a good basis in Calculus first.

I have finished the ALEKS Algebra 2 with trig, but it seemed a little too much rote and surface learning.

Well I have never heard that complaint about AOPS.

you got a perfect AMC 8 score (congrats!). You really need to try http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/, as others have suggested above. I'm pretty sure they will be able to challenge you.
