DS7 has made it through Q1 and while his report card is not flawless (some P grades where he rushed through his work and made careless errors and a bit too much socializing), it and the conference at school were very positive. What a tremendous change a year, and a new school, have made!

Just sharing this to give others hope. Is it all perfect at the new school? No, but he's learning and they've advanced him in a few ways that matter... which has resolved a lot of behavioral issues that made last year a very, very frustrating experience.
This is wonderful news!
KADmom, thank you! I hope that my post doesn't sound like bragging. We have all of our fingers crossed that this continues. It was just so nice to sit in a meeting and only need to thank the teachers, rather than hear all about how terribly behind our DS was behaviorally and supposedly academically, etc. We almost didn't know how to behave. :-)
That's fantastic! I bet that did feel good to sit through a positive conference smile and how wonderful to see how it's improving things for your son.
Re. Bragging - no, it doesn't seem like bragging at all. This is a place where talking about stuff like this is 'normal' and why I love reading the posts here. It is good to see what had been labelled as behavioral issues were just symptoms of asynchrony laugh
