My DS used EPGY for K-2 math. Kids can be very self-sufficient with the program. There are video tutorials and problems. Especially from what we saw in the early math, there was not really any need for adult help. If I remember correctly, each session was went about 20 minutes. You could choose to do more than one session. The program keeps track of which types of questions you are answering correctly, and progresses when you adequately get a concept. It had reports that parents/teachers could look at to view progress.
My son didn't like it; he thought the speaker was dull and the problems were repetitive, even on GT settings (which provides for less repetition).
