I have decided to get ds6 going on some more structured math activities before he heads back to ps this fall for 1st grade. We practice multiplication a lot informally but I think he would like a better understanding. I know he won't get that in 1st. Most likely we will do a combination of Miquon and Singapore. I have heard they go well together. And the books don't cost 100s of $.

Does anyone have a preference on where they get their materials? Specifically ebay "buyitnow" or a dedicated homeschool online bookstore. (buyitnow as opposed to auctions since auctions can take days, the items get bid up, and sometimes you don't win)

Singapore books can be bought from CBD for less than they cost on Singapore's website. Their prices are often lower than Amazon's. Many homeschoolers also buy from Rainbow Resource because of their low prices.

I do most of my purchasing through Amazon, Half.com, eBay (regular and BIN auctions), and PaperbackSwap.

I also run everything through Amazon because sometimes you can do better there. We tried Singapore last year for DS and found it less expensive on Amazon than anywhere else.
