Hi, I'm interested in finding books or activities that dealt with philosophical issues (specially in the area of ethics and values) for my DS8.

Any suggestion or recommendation would be appreciated.

Hi - I'm not personally familiar with these, but this site has several promising links:

I liked the look of this book, but my son (9) was not really 'taken' by it. It seems somewhat comprehensive, but doesn't dig super dig with any one philosopher. A solid taste of a variety of thinkers. I might offer it to him again in a year or two.

The Story of Philosophy

One that he did enjoy, was just a series of questions, but I don't recall that title. Ds was funny about that one, he said he enjoyed thinking about all the questions, but wished there were more answers!

St pauli girl, thank you for the link! It looks very cool.

Chris, the book looks like nice general introduction to Philosophy. Like your son, my son enjoys thinking about all kinds of philosophical issues or questions. The one that you've described with a series of questions sounds great. May be I'll google it. Thank you so much.

How about Sophie's World? My DS9 is deeply fascinated by the book but it seems pretty dense, definitely not a quick read.

Royal Fireworks Press has the "Philosophy for Young Thinkers" series (which I've not seen, and about which I know basically nothing!), but it might be worth a peek.

peace
