I'd love to hear about any magazine subscriptions, podcasts or websites appropriate for my child. He's an avid reader (5th-6th grade) but is only 7. We are running out of appropriate fiction books due to content. So we're looking for other ways to nurture his longing for learning.

Also, we have considered getting him a computer and are looking for suggestions on programs to filter out unwanted content so we can give him 'free reign' of the computer, but feel pretty secure about what he is and is not able to access.

I assume you've already checked out the age-group book recommendation threads in this forum? Many of us have or have had the same situation. You can look a level up, too, in the 9-12 year old thread.
OK thanks. I did see those, and will take a closer look. My son really loves technology, and we spend a lot of time in the car, so I was trying to find some things to listen to while driving. He loves to read, but seems to stay hyper-focused (ADHD) on what he loves the most which is Percy Jackson/Greek Mythology or Minecraft (gah!). I've purchased some books for him, trying to broaden his interests, but so far, he's boycotting reading anything other than his 'favorites'. Was hoping to find something new to peak his interest by trying a different medium. I'll keep searching. Thanks.
The 2e newsletter - current issue March/April 2018 has some articles which may be of interest.
Thanks I'll check it out
