DD 12 is ready for Geometry but her school does not offer it so we are looking at an on-line course. We like Alcumus and think we might put her in their Geography course.

I'd love input from anyone who's familiar with their on-line courses, esp. Geometry.

My son's experience is that the AoPS courses are a ton of work. But you also learn SO MUCH MORE and SO MUCH DEEPER than if you take the regular math courses in high school.

Can I ask what folks did before AoPS, when their mathy kids were younger?

There were these things call MATH BOOKS. And if you live in a urban area around a university found tutors. In the late 1970's my husband was tutored in most of High School math by math graduate students. And then started taking classes at a university in math at 13/14. My uncle in the late 1950's bought math books and taught himself.

There is Beast Academy by AoPS for the younger kids. It is new and has a great reputation, but doesn't have all grades yet.
