Although DS12's handwriting is now totally acceptable, it really held him back for so long....

I'd love to hear what people have done for handwriting improvement.

Has anyone tried http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9g-49-en-70-2jm6.html
It's a DS game from Japan that teaches Japanese letters. Wish there was one in English.

I also bought the "Handwriting without Tears" Print tool, so I could analyse my son's printing, and help him see what he needed to change. I thought that that was a great help. For those DIY-types. (Do It Yourself)

Hi Grinity,

DS7's school uses the Handwriting without Tears program. I have seen some improvement although when he writes fast he doesn't pay much attention to neatness or correct formation of letters.
Never tried the Japanese letters game...will have to show it to DS.
Thanks,
moni

The Japanese letter game looks really hard. I wonder if they have 'beginner' settings?

Curious...
My fingers are a bit stiff so I took to using fat pens & pencils because they ease the strain on gripping them. GS9 was just complaining about his fingers getting tired and sore during some of the timed drills, slowing him down. So, I'm going to get him some fat 'adult' pencils and have him try them. Have any of your kids tried the thicker pencils or extra fat grips on the pencils?
