Just wanted to share this:

The new article, Critical Issues in the Identification of Gifted Students with Co-Existing Disabilities: The Twice-Exceptional, has just been published on SAGE Open. It addresses the problem of under-identification of 2e students for services in American schools. SAGE Open allows open access to anyone with a computer. The article reflects the work of 17 authors in the field, including psychologists, educators, and twice-exceptional advocates. We hope it will positively influence the upcoming reauthorization of IDEA law to better protect the twice-exceptional. http://sgo.sagepub.com/content/3/3/2158244013505855.full

Thanks so much for posting this. The list of contributing authors is impressive, and this article draws a lot of information together in one place. Readers can easily navigate to the recommendations for best practices. The supplemental readings are a rich resource for further study. SAGE Open makes it easy to share the article electronically, or the 17-page PDF format may make a great pass-along to bring to meetings. Being made available without cost or registration, this tool equips parents with an authoritative guide and inside track for advocacy.
