Hi NanRos, Welcome! My DS9 was originally diagnosed with autism at age 3. Then later, we were told that he more likely has an Asperger's. He did 40 hours a week ABA for about 3 years. He is currently mainstreamed in public school. We knew he was very bright, but we "officially" got the gifted label through his annual IQ test when he was 6 years old. You will find many parents with similar situations here. This is a great place!

Yes, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of early intervention! Although he was very smart, my DS's brilliance was trapped somewhere deep inside him before ABA. It definitely helped him unleash his true abilities.

NanRos, I bet you must have heard your DS's therapists/tutors commenting many times how smart he was and how quickly he's gone through programs!
