Have any of you been encouraged to believe in your own exceptional abilities and inspired to do more or be more yourself as a result of having an exceptionally gifted kid?

This has been one of the many gifts of parenting for me.

I don't know if I have that kind of kid, but I find my DD2 to be illuminating. For instance, I noticed she just does stuff, and enjoys it. It doesn't have to be complete. She doesn't do just one thing. It doesn't even have to be 'as good as she can make it.' It's like the opposite of all the creative focus/motivational/getting things done articles. She's a whirlwind of Legos, crayons, and stickers and she's happy. I'm hoping to eventually learn this skill from her.
