Posted By: Jtjt Test scores not high enough for DYS, correct? - 04/28/12 10:18 PM
Hello again everyone. I have a PG 6 year old who is a DYS. We completed testing for my five year old recently. The 6 year old LOVED his day of testing, because he thrives on that kind of attention. My 5 year old, not so much. He wasn't thrilled about doing the testing. He had a difficult time focusing and even staying seated. But hey, he is five, no big deal. I just got his test scores in, and I don't think that they meet criteria. May I run them by you to verify this?

I wouldn't be so quick to attribute his lack of focus to being age appropriate...the tests are designed for kids (including boys) of his age. Is this a common theme for him? I would follow up if you have doubts. I can. Be hard being the younger sib of an identified gifted sib especially if both are boys and particularly if there is a 2 e situation so if your gut is worried then act sooner rather than later.

That performance IV is well no question in the gifted range and highly gifted as well. Depending on your school and your childs personality DS5 might need a lot of advocacy. Feel free to post about DS5 issues on the email lists and tap
