I learned that our state's award ceremony cut-off this year is higher than NUMATS cut-off. Is this common?
Where did you find information on your state's award cut-off? I'm in Illinois.
I learned that the Michigan SAT cut offs for 6th grade are higher than NUMATS. I was just surprised. Figured that NUMATS, since it's drawing from a higher population, would have to be more selective.
Not sure how they decide, but could it have to do with the size of the venue or their goals for individual recognition in the state? We went for a couple of years here in MN to our state one, but I have not been to the NUMATS ceremony to compare (one year we didn't attend, the other one her dad took her).
