OK all, so I am awaiting the exciting Woodcock Johnson Ach. test results...... So far, all the psych. was able to tell me was that DS 5years5months scored well into the 3rd grade levels....and in some areas, 4th grade. Looking ahead, and because I am the worst "waiter"... does anyone have any idea what those scores would look like, or is that just too little info?
Still on fence about next school year, and decisions have to be made by March 1 for the private schools.......
Please, if anyone has thoughts and can figure out a scores with this limited info, I would soooo appreciate it!
Also, he took the ERBs yesterday - when we opened the link to see the results, it looked as though he flat out bombed. The school called to say it was a "HUGE GLITCH in the system", the are "mortified", and "so so very profoundly sorry" and to disregard what we saw. They will NOT tell us what in the world happened, other then "we observed him to be exceptional" as he drew for them a map of Paris with all the landmarks written in French and English....(his new thing is social studies". What do you think???
Also, for a laugh, I glanced at the worksheet from the WJ in the writing section and saw this sentence written by my little monkey "I would like to go to India one day, so that I can see the Taj Majal". Was dying...

This is where the deep breathing comes in. Find your pulse, breath in 6, breath out 6. Do it again with a shorter or longer number of heartbeats if 6 seems too long or too short. 5 minutes or 20 minutes from now you will feel better.

I promise.

Sending compassion,
Grinity

I believe I have a bunch of 3rd and 4th grade WJ-III scores at the age of 5:4 (or was it 5:3?)and 5:6 respectively. I will PM you once I get my two DYS to bed. Take the DYS part as a hint regarding the scores wink

Grade equivalents are not very useful information -- remember that they refer to the average performance of a kid in that grade, not the actual expectations of that grade level classroom.

But yes, I know what that prompt would have been -- cute! and not typical for the age. I think the very fact that he writes about that topic is far more important information than the grade equivalent.
