Our daughter's neuropsychologist gave our daughter the GAI of the WISC-IV. We don't have the results back yet.

She said she wanted to explore the large discrepancies in her WJ-III scores, with overall IQ of 136, fluid reasoning at 160, short term memory and processing speed in the 100s, (I think it was 118 and 108) and the rest of her subtests in the 130s.

My question is whether the DAI score may be higher than her WJ-III GIA score? What is typical? Has anyone ever had both tests done?

Do you mean GAI (General Ability Index)? GAI is a combination of the Verbal Comprehension (VC) and Perceptual Reasoning (PR) subtests. It takes out the Working Memory and Processing Speed portions of the full scale IQ. It sounds like your neuropsych wants to see if your DD has a processing issue that may be pulling down her FSIQ and/or her achievement scores. This is common in twice exceptional kids.

So it might be the same IQ score after all this? We think there is a LD, which is the thing that started all the testing. Thank you for your help.

Well, we just got the results , and it was significantly higher than the WJ-III GIA (no wonder I get confused!) In our daughter's case, it was 11 points higher than the WJ-III of 136. It was a full 17 points higher than her FSIQ. But her processing and ST memories were a full 60 points lower than her Gf.

It was 147, which puts us within reach of DYS. Thank you for all of your help and encouragement.
