I need your help in interpreting my child’s TOMAGS score. She was tested in 4th grade and got a score of 148. I am unable to find any info on what this score means in terms of percentiles. Thanks.
The TOMAGS uses standard scores with mean = 100, and standard deviation = 15. So 148 is 99.9th %ile, presumably in the general population. (There are two sets of norms for the TOMAGS: general population and GT. A standard score at or above 100 on the GT norms would indicate strong likelihood of math giftedness, while a score around 100 on the general pop norms would indicate low likelihood.)
Thank you aeh. This is very helpful.
