Hello. In my child's district, no official scores are mailed out--he/she is either in the program or not and we are notified via phone.

I requested some documentation for potential other opportunities, but all I got was this:

Verbal battery: 63/65
Quantitative battery: 56/60
Non-verbal batter: 64/65

Is there anyone here who would be able to tell me:

1) What her approiximate SAS score would be?
2) What percentile each score would be?
3) Is a perfect score in any one category rare?

She was 10 years and 3 months old at the time of the test

I don't believe these norms are publicly available. (ETA: That is, a qualified examiner (in this case, usually a district assessment professional) can purchase the current norms, but they are neither freely downloadable nor legitimately for sale to lay persons.) The numbers you were given are her raw scores, which tell you that she scored fairly close to the ceiling of this form of the test (so they would likely be high SAS and percentiles) in verbal and nonverbal, but not in quantitative. So, in answer to your questions:

1. can't be obtained without proprietary norm tables.
2. same as 1, but probably in the high 90s for verbal and nonverbal, at least.
3. yes.

Has another poster here had a child take the cogAT and scored similarly at the same grade level to see what the approximate SAS or percentiles would be?

Our schools provided the exact opposite: we have percentiles ONLY (for age and grade), with no raw scores. I have actually been curious about the raw scores!

I asked our school for the raw scores. Our district doesn't administer the quantitative portion to any students. My son scored 64/65 on verbal and 65/65 on non verbal both 99th percentile.

He was 8yrs 1mo when he took the CoGat.

My daughter took form 7 in the past spring when she's 10.

Your daughter's seemed to be form 6 with a ceiling of 150. Form 7 appeared to have less but a bit more challenging questions with a ceiling of 160 for better discrimination among the highest levels of ability. But in any case, I'd think your daughter's scores are at or close to the ceiling. And you only need to score 135 to be at 99%.

FYI, different forms of the test are administered to different age/grade groups, so the raw score and corresponding percentile/standard score for 8-1 cannot be used to predict that for 10-3.
