Just curious what folks here thought of it--main character is highly gifted and seems to me to be clearly somewhere on the spectrum (although in the film the character says when he was evaluated the psych. said it was inconclusive. I was thinking--they should have taken him to Dr. Amend...I know, it is just a movie!). I thought it was beautiful. Interested in other opinions re; the 2E aspect of it.

Just had to come back to comment on Thomas Horn, the kid actor--I would say that he would for sure be a candidate for Davidson--what an amazing kid and after watching a few interviews I can see why he was so extraordinary in the role.

I haven't seen the movie--however, I have read the book, and yeah, the character is clearly a gifted kid who's possibly spectrumish. I recommend the book highly. I think I'm going to skip the movie, since I don't think there's any way it could live up to the book.

I was wondering if anyone saw the recent TV show "Touch" with Kiefer Sutherland? It was about an autistic kid who doesn't talk and doesn't like to be touched but sees where patterns intersect and communicates through numbers. My kids were fascinated and it started many interesting conversations in our house.

Looking forward to seeing Extremely Loud. I just You Tubed Thomas Horn - what a gracious, humble and well-spoken boy. And yes, definately a DYS-caliber kid!
