Anyone have experience with the Go Math ! books ? Are these books better than the Houghton Mifflin books ?
What would be a good math book for elementary grade (grades 3-5) ? We liked Singapore Math, as well as the math mammoth worksheets. Unfortunately, Singapore math is not used in school. My child loves the The Book of Perfectly Perilous Math, I wish I knew that Math, and books of this nature. He loves Khan Academy, and works on it far above his grade level.

Thanks !

We use Go Math book. I think of it as the poor man's Singapore Math. It is similar in the way they want the kids to do things. Such as regrouping, and bar modeling etc. But it added a lot of explaining in words and terminologies. It is also missing the amount of practice questions Singapore Math has. The good part is similar to Singapore Math. The differences from Singapore Math are not improvements.
