My daughter loves history but she hasn't developed much of a sense of time yet. I thought it would be cool to introduce her to timelines and maybe get a big timeline for the wall where she can plot the events she reads about and see their distance from each other.

I see a couple of diy wall timeline products online, as well as some preprinted timelines that look pretty extensive. Does anyone have experience with large wall timelines? I'm just curious about what works best, what you or your child liked, don't like, creative ideas for construction, etc.

I bought a set of timelines from Pandia Press and laminated them at the local teachers' supply store. I keep the "Modern Era" one up in the hallway, and we've added things like when family members and people of interest were born/died, and when favorite books were written.

I plan to hang the "Ancient Era" one up soon, when we actually get going with our history curriculum this year.
