She can read, and doesn't seem to have any difficulty that I can see. But she is only reading Junie B Jones (the first thing she has shown interest in) and still she can take it or leave it. She wasn't an early reader, and barely knew her alphabet when she entered kindergarden, even though she went to preschool. I think she is artistic, she is very involved in weaving - likes rainbow loom, crochet, and just made a small chair with a woven seat (boy scout project) with help from dad.

Anyone else have an uninterested reader?

I had one. Turns out he had dyslexia and latent hyperopia. After vision therapy, he now wears glasses. He does enjoy reading now. But one thing I still see a little is that his interest level is above his reading level. That is evening out now, but for a time audio books helped bridge that gap.
