Did anyone else receive a spam PM from a new member calling herself kuburatdaha? The one I received had greetings in the name of god and said something about $3.5 million.
I just checked. Yep I got it. The English was better than most and they didn't ask up front for anything which was novel. I didn't sent it to mark as I think he has enough now.
It was almost more excitement than I could stand. Sadly, I found my attention wandering markedly about the fourth sentence in that Eldritch abomination of a paragraph...
What did the end of it say?? I kept getting lost about the "embassy" part of things.
I couldn't help noticing the the 3 of the newest members are bC6wU9hH3v, tM6uB9sD9d, tU0nK6oX7j. (Actually I see these kinds of "names" a lot in the "Newest Members" list.)

Hi Val - I have seen it, and noticed all the new user names that are spammers. When tracing the IP addresses I've noticed that these spammers are all posting from the same region/countries; I may be able to block that region from accessing the board if the trend continues. I can at least ban each user from posting when I notice the weird screen name.
Also, thank you to everyone who has notified me of spam recently! Much appreciated.
IP filtering has done wonders on my board for reducing forum-spam. We don't just reject new registries, of course-- but they do require administrator approval if they come from some regions.
