Hello. I have a 3 year old daughter who I suspect is gifted.
Intellectually, she is at a 4- 4 1/2 year old level. She has excellent fine motor skills.

Some of the things she is doing now include:
1. drawing people, with arms, legs, body, head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth and hair, and differentiating between mommy and daddy, etc.

2. writing the alphabet (uppercase letters) and writing numbers 1-7.

3. asking lots of "why" and "how" questions. Like how do we go to sleep?

4. pre-reading: reading or memorizing words in books

5. can do simple addition and sounds out letters, knows all colors and shapes, even hexagon and octagon.

Anyway, I look forward to finding the information that I'm looking for here.

Hi Sharona-

I have a three year old daughter as well. Three is a favorite age for me- the kids are past toilet training, articulate, and really coming into their own as individuals. Enjoy this time!

welcome to the board-

Welcome Sharona,
You daughter is definitly doing things that are not on the normal developmental track. It's been a while for me, but she sounds more like 'end of Kindergarden' level to me. I suggest that you spend some time volunteering around a cross section of 5 year olds to see what they are really like. I smell the faint whif of 'Gifted Denial,' if you don't mind my saying, Dear.

But that just makes you like so many of the rest of us!

Love and More Love,
Grinity
