Anybody familiar with this: The Indigo Child ? A friend told me about it yesterday.

Yes. I think it's a crock.
I took it as New Age ramblings years ago.

In any event, it didn't take in wider society.
What they said.

Formula for such things:
1) Notice some seeming coincidences
2) Recognize a trend
3) Accumulate 2-5 factual points about the trend
4) Mix in 2-5 points from one or more co-morbid trends
5) Come up with a random explanation based on personal beliefs
6) Attach 4-10 hypothetical points based on random explanation

I think in this case they've hit on a real trend which is the Flynn Effect (the rise of IQ across generations) and so the first part is really classic gifted traits being seen in a wider field of the population thanks to nutrition, etc. The co-morbid trends are the Gen-Y/Information Age sense of entitlement plus the information age push towards global thinking.

Of course this is just my random explanation based on personal beliefs.
I'd rank this view up there with the anthroposophy in the Waldorf schools-- feel-good mumbo jumbo masquerading as science/religion.

Thanks for the share all the same, petunia.
