Need lot of acceleration ......
DD6 skipped K and doing well in 2nd (June birthday) and above grade level in all subjects including arts and music. Her guided reading level is T and works 4th grade math at home. Grade skipping is not an option for us because we think it may stress her.she is already 2 years younger in her class compared half of her class.

I just want to hear those who are in the same boat and what you are doing in such case.DD does swimming, ballet and girl scouts so we can not put her on anymore activities because of our time constraints

We're in a very similar boat, and are planning to homeschool. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I have found the extracurriculars, like piano, fill the void. If she is doing math so far ahead, she probably has good ability in piano and the work required in doing the piano at a high level, takes away the boredom at school. You said you cannot add any more activities, but that is a real way I have found to deal with it. Also DD takes Chinese out of school, chess and spanish in school. So the extra languages and piano really challenge her, though we do accelerate the math at home.

For us the early entrance and skip got our DD10 to an appropriate social level, so that has made a huge difference.

As far as academics, she will be subject advanced in math again next year (working now on her own at a higher-level after school at the suggestion of the school, in addition to the regular work). Is further subject acceleration possibly available, at least in her favorite and/or most frustrating subject?

And finally, athletics has helped a lot. DD plays two instruments, but those come easily to her as well so it keeps her busy but not challenged. Sports, however, she actually needs to work at. In DD's case, she wants to play sports with her friends who are in her grade and thus 1+-2+ years older than her, so it gives her an extra challenge and a chance to see that hard work pays off.
