Our district has a very clearly worded non-discrimination policy and age discrimination is included in the lengthy list. Has anyone here ever successfully advocated for acceleration based on one of these policies?

e.g. "If DS were just one year older, high school geometry would be available to him--are you discriminating against him because of his age?"

Haven't tried it but found this:

"As with the example of work, other aspects can cloud the issue, maturity and behavior, for example, but if we take those out of the equation, that is, we say all those things are equal, aren't we discriminating against those gifted children when we deny them the appropriate academic situation solely because of their age?"
