I think I would email the teacher explaining why DD said what and how (C&CF) she said and what she is afraid of. That way you can start off w/out any misunderstandings and go from there.
I think it's a good idea to clear up any misunderstandings. Teachers know that 7-year-olds, gifted or not, can be accidently rude.
