I think, though, that another equally important component is a respect for academic achievement, especially that teachers and schools should respect academic achievement.

I agree.
Yes, it's a series about math education.
I also like the article because it didn't just promote gifted education. It's more general and really about challenging the high achievers, regardless of whether the high achievement comes from innate abilities or hard work.
