Just wanted to share some amazing news which might also serve as an idea for others. DS5, PG, had early entrance into K and is now in 1st grade. He is doing math on a 5th grade level and obviously was completely bored and frustrated with the 1st grade math curriculum. We have an amazing teacher this year that completely gets him and helped us advocate to the principal. It was suggested at first DS be subject accelerated to 2nd grade in math. We felt this wouldn't be close to enough.

We suggested EPGY as a substitute for the schools curriculum. DS had already been doing it for about a month at the time of he meeting. Amazingly enough they agreed and we are having Honors Society students monitoring him as he does his math in a separate room. He goes to a private school that seemed to be willing to be flexible and helpful, but this goes beyond anything I could have hoped for.

Miracles do happen!

Fantastic! Gotta love it when the unexpected happens!

Now, if only that school were in my town!
That's great news! Great idea to get the Honors Society students monitoring. You are lucky to have such a large range of grades in your school.

Love to hear success stories!!
