So DD9 attended 5th grade and LOVED IT! Oh Lord thank you it feels so good to know that your child needed a push in school, fought hard for it, had the teachers listen to you and have all that work reflected in your child with a huge smile saying "thank you Mom, that was awsome!". That was worth every bit of worry (coming mostly from people that said don't do it) while pushing for this.

I also wanted to thank you all for helping me with this.

Wow, next year we'll be fighting the middle school already!

It was funny, cause she said on the way to school "what happens if someone gives me a black eye?" She had been worried about bullies in the new class.
So when we went in to the office yesterday, there was another girl standing there listening in on what she was going to do that day. She smiled and said that she was also in the same class as DD. I don't know what had me ask but I told the girl that DD was alittle concerned about bullies in the class. She told Trinity not to worry, that she and other people in the class stand up for kids that are being bullied and that there wern't any bullies in that class.

As I was leaving she was surrounded by kids from her old class and new classmates. She just fit right in!

Since your daughter loved it and it seemed to be a good match is the school going to proceed with moving her? I ask because in your other post I remember you talking about this being a one day trail. So what happens next?

Yea!!!! Does she get to go back today and then tomorrow and then Monday . . . ? How soon can you lock this placement in, officially? Isn't it great to see them happy and challenged!

She thought she could, so she did.

I told her this morning that she would probably be going back to 4th grade for today and tomorrow, but hopefully soon she will be back in the 5th grade permanently.

Since I was at work yesterday (no email at those computers frown )
I had Curtis email the head teacher, then I emailed her this morning and tryed to call the school. I havn't gotten a call back yet though, I know she is a very busy woman.

Just to see that spark back for school again, I didn't realise how much that was missing.
