    Thanks for the link!

And may I ask for even more? Now I need to know the basic curriculum that is associated with each grade. Is there any link for that?

    Happy New Year,

Interesting! I don't have an IQ score for my son but he did take the WIAT at age 7 and the educational psychologist gave us an estimated IQ score, so that is what I am going by. Looking at the grade level expectations for each age, it looks like my son has usually been slightly lower than the grade level it shows for math but higher than the grade level it shows in language arts, so if you could average the two it would be around the listed grade level and his best friends are about the same age as the mental age that is listed.

That sounds right Dottie, I would say at my house the chart is correct, for example, pinning down what grade level they can easily work at without mentally expending themselves too much. To learn something new, they could be presented with GE materials slighly above. Interestly, though, I think DD7 operates somewhat higher than the chart indicates for reading/writing. She basically prefers it to math. It will be interesting to find out the results on her WIAT, she will take it tomorrow.

    Isa-

If you want to know the typical course of study for each grade, then look here: www.worldbook.com
There is no such thing as standard grade level curriculum in the USA though, so what you get in your town may be much different from what is covered in mine.

    hth!

    Lorel -

thanks for the link. I just wanted to have a general idea of what is suposed to know a child at each grade level. I do not live in the US so I am not familiar with the school grades.
