Thanks for the input. Generally, we do try to validate his feelings, while not contributing to the making of mountains out of molehills. And humor has a definite place here, however, it does seem that many times that only serves to aggravate these particular situations. We take cues in our actions (if any is needed) from him. It's just exhausting at times, but I believe it'll get better with time and maturity.

It's something that he'll have to learn to work through/accept and we're doing our best to help him with it.

Thanks again for the ideas, I appreciate them.

Sounds like you are doing all the right stuff. I bet you are right that with practice and maturity this will improve.

I'm glad to see that, I'm having related issues w/DS7. I know w/DD, pre-hormones started around 9, don't know if that is the same with boys or not. It sounds like you're doing what you can to deal with it, we've been talking too and it seems to help a little.

It's just hard to me not knowing what's just a kid thing and what is related to gifted, kwim?

I was misdiagnosed as being bipolar b/c of this. It STILL happens to me today. I haven't had the validation, but I am betting a LOT of it has to do with overexcitabilities/sensitivities...

That, and I am a Gemini. wink

DS6 is this way too. I think it's "normal".
