We were watching Brother Bear 2 this morning and there is a scene where the young bear is feeling sad and left out. DS says "yeah, just like I feel in school."

When DS was in 1st grade, the class used to play spelling/math games and there came a time when DS didn't get to play because nobody else could ever win. He got to sit at the back with the assistant and do flashcards. Sounds pitiful, but DS enjoyed the one-on-one and the 'new' thing as much as he would have liked playing the games. Not too long after that, he was switched to a classroom with a majority of peers from the GT program.

Funny, he mentioned something about that experience just the other day, which is probably why I have it in my head now.

Hope things get better for your DS.
