Hmmm. Maybe I should look around, but I haven't found anyone else in our area. Of course, if I end up having to spend $2500 for treatment, $350 is a drop in the bucket! Oh well; we'll do what we have to. If he needs it, he needs it.

I know that the developmental optometrist that I went to on that list accepted VSP for the initial eye exam, but then we had to pay a small amount for the additional piece. The vision therapy is expensive, but once again, my doctor lets me pay it in pieces.

I noticed DS not being able to move from line to line in a chapter book we were reading last night... looks like I need to investigate DOs in my area.

I called another developmental optometrist, and his fee is $650. There's a total of 4 visits, and they will accept insurance for the first visit, but you still have to pay most of the $650.

Ack! I've been putting off this call and hearing all this talk about $650 plus months of therapy isn't making me pick up the phone any quicker! I just have to tell myself that the time and money spent now could save so much down the road...

That's what I tell myself. I have heard so many horror stories of children with learning disabilities or other issues who become teenagers without having it diagnosed, that I don't want my child to go through that.
