DS5 is enjoying Timez Attack very much (so thanks to all who mentioned it) but is having trouble in the lava level catching the pesky dragons in order to be able to throw at the door. Whilst I get the idea that delaying a bit so that they really think about the counting-by is probably a good idea, the amount of time it takes him to catch enough is annoying us both, especially since I don't find it much easier than he does, and especially since very often he knows the answer to the sum very well, but can't enter it until he's caught the wretched creatures! Are we doing something wrong (very possible, since neither of us has any video game experience to speak of) or do we both just need to improve our hand-eye coordination? It's not doing my RSI any good...

Also, what if anything can you make the fiery egg do? I found a review that said it gave you health, but what does that mean? DS walked into it without anything apparently happening...

    TIA for any help!

Are you talking about the things that fly? Yeah, they are a pain. DS has developed a technique of just running around constantly jumping (spacebar). Eventually he'll get them all.

You do loose health over time by missing a problem or by walking through lava. Most of the time DS would ignore the egg. Just a little widget in the game I guess.

Thanks JBDad, yes, those flying things are the things I mean - surely they're dragons? How can you tell you've lost health? DS (well, I was "driving" at least once when this happened) fall into the lava completely from time to time, but we've found no way to get out. Haven't noticed any effects of just running over lava; but this is a whole other world to me...

When you miss questions during the challenge phases. It's in the upper right corner of the screen if I recall. It doesn't really "do" anything as you come right back even if your health meter goes to zero. Just standard fare for a game.
