DS12 just showed me this one. I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry...

Special Boy With Freakishly Large Brain Wins Spelling Bee

be sure to read the subtitles..

DS12 says that this sums up his whole elementary school career.

    Grinity,

We discovered The Onion last Mar. in Washington. We love it! They had the headline, "Government Approves Salmonella." This video brought back a bit of pain. It so adeptly shows the deliberate ignorance and disrespect many have about gifted kids. Thanks for sharing it.

I was worried about this one, I sure didn't want to offend anyone, but DS12 was very very sure that it needed to be posted. It must be extra-frustrating to deal with this level of closedmindedness as a small child. But, still, appologies to whoever got offended here.

OMG -- love it. Sad, because it's a very accurate representation of GT media coverage... frown

    Hi Grinity,

Loved this clip. We had a local G&T information session yesterday in our region, and opened it (the title was "They are normal......but they are not average") with this clip.

So thanks so much for sharing this. I believe it makes a very important point.

The audience of parents, teachers, Principals, teachers-in-training, and district office staff loved it too, and it certainly raised some interesting discussion.

    Thanks again Grinity!

    Steph
