    See if anyone is interested:

The University of California, Irvine Extension has announced a free, month-long series designed to help teachers, administrators and parents better understand and more effectively support gifted students. The program includes weekly seminars which will support a topic related to gifted children and will be offered online for free, topics include:

"How to Relate Successfully with Gifted Youngsters." May 6, 2009
"What Differentiation Should Look Like." May 13, 2009
    "Building the Parent/Teacher Connection." May 20, 2009
"Understanding IQ Testing & Special Programming for Advanced and Gifted Learners." May 27, 2009

UC Irvine Extension is known for its exceptional GATE programming. Its programs provide options for K-12 teachers with focused professional development sessions, individual courses and entire certificate programs aligned with the California Association for the Gifted (CAG), the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC), and state standards for excellence.

For those in different time zones, I read a post from a member of another group in which she said that UCI told her if you sign up to attend, you are automatically emailed a link to the presentation 24 hours after it ends, and you can view it at your convenience for 7 days.

I haven't confirmed this yet on my own, but thought it might be of interest for those of us not in the Pacific Time Zone.

I just finished the first one's recording and I thought the speaker was great. For those of you who haven't signed up yet I recommend at least signing up and listening to the recording.

I wonder if any of the teachers I sent it to have listened to it? smile

Somehow I missed this whole thread. I just e-mailed to ask if they would be willing to send me the recorded versions of part 1 and 2. Cross your fingers!
