DS does very well in math and science but is not great at writing and his school is not known for their English/Language Arts program. He used IXL for math several years ago and he liked it and I noted they now have added Language Arts. Has anyone used IXL for Language Arts or could you recommend another online program.

As far as writing, we have looked for a local tutor but have not been able to find anyone that is highly recommended, quite the opposite in fact. Are there online writing tutors available that anyone could recommend?

    Thanks

I'm following this thread since dd11 also needs some additional help with writing.

Davidson has tables comparing both online maths, which I just posted on another thread, and online language arts programs. This might be useful to review.
