I'm glad I stumbled upon this. DS6 has been using EPGY this summer and I am wondering when would be best to make the switch to AoPS.

Just reporting back that DS8 has taken a course which was fine, but is now working through a book without course which is fine too. The latter really requires a kid to be self-motivated to work through the book without being "pushed" by a class.

AoPS is great for kids that get it but you might have to prod.
If EPGY is what you use you really should use the Alcumus on AoPS.
I am having trouble getting my ds11 to do his daily problems on Alcumus.
I cut him some slack, he has had a ton of home work this year.

I'd add that the AoPS pre-algebra textbook is very good and also a great text if you want to switch over from something else.
