Rote memory is hard for him and I wouldn't consider him a mathy kid.

Here are some examples of how he does math.

6+n=5+2
He will make a design out of 7 Cheerios on the right. He will make the same design on the left. What ever he needs to add to make them match is how he gets the answer.

If asked 8+8, he is clueless. If asked how many shoes 2 spiders need, he'll quickly answer 16.

He isn't a big fan of numbers, letters and writing. This is making it hard to keep him interested in school work. This is just another reason why I am really looking forward to his assessment from the Eides.
