When my DD was in private school, I could definitely see other parents getting bent out of shape about her "quirks," especially because she wasn't always tactful about them. It often seemed to bother the parents more than the kids or the teachers - they're the ones potentially losing "status" by their kids not being at the top of the class. (I don't see this now in public school largely because I don't interact with the other parents much, I suspect.) If you're only hearing these concerns from the one source, and she's not someone who interacts with your son regularly anyway, I would write it off as a weird reaction to him and leave it alone.
