I am from west coast so I don't really know what the big deal is to get into Hunter school. It's just an elementary school, I thought. Apparently it is a big deal.

"Hunter had 1,832 4-year-olds apply last year for 50 kindergarten seats;" from the article.

That is less than 3% admission rate!

To put into perspective, Harvard's admission rate is about 8% and Juilliard is somewhere in 7% range.
