I mentioned this book a few months ago when someone was looking for teaching strategies for advanced readers. Although not specifically geared to the needs of gifted readers, it's really a helpful resource--Miller totally "gets" that gifted kids are sitting in the classroom with books teaching themselves. She points out that these kids, just as much as "reluctant" or developing readers, need the opportunity to choose their own reading materials, read at their own pace without getting bogged down in worksheets and extension activities, and solicit help from the teacher for new suggestions for genres and authors. Good suggestions, too, for creating a class community of readers who encourage and stimulate each other. Highly recommended! And there's a nice list of book suggestions for late elementary students at the back.
