Sharing from Dr James Webb:

There is a possibility of getting "highly gifted" to be a topic discussed on the 1A Show on NPR (the show is the replacement for the Diane Rehm Show). According to a producer on 1A, they have decided to put ideas up for a vote by their audience for upcoming shows. Here is what the producer says:

Sometime in early January, we'll build an episode of 1A around the winning question. (We might still do a show on your idea later on, even if it doesn't win.)

I wanted to let you know that we've rephrased your original pitch slightly, to:

"What are the challenges faced by the PG or Profoundly Gifted community? There are so many resources for the underperforming students, but what about those who tend to over-perform?"

We'll start the voting on Monday, and I'll send a link to page where people can vote. Feel free to campaign for your idea, tell friends to vote, etc.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Thanks,

Gabe Bullard
Senior Digital Producer, 1A

Please vote and publicize this in various social media to encourage others to log in and vote. Although the topic focuses on profoundly gifted, I think that any show on that topic would necessarily involve discussion of related topics. Right now, the topic is in the lead in its category, so I think it has a good chance.

Thanks. Warmest wishes for a Happy Holidays!

Jim Webb
