I am considering a job and relocation to Maui. I am concerned about finding a school and social situation that is good for my 6 and 10 year old kids. We are currently in a good public school district and struggling to get their academic needs met and I am reading that Hawaii has generally poor public schools so I am worried. I am open to private schools but would love to hear from anyone that has researched them or lived there and any personal experience on socializing there would be great. I am reading that local children are not very accepting of newcomers and I hate to add another challenge on top of all we already have. Homeschooling and/or online school might be an option too although I want to be sure they have enough social opportunities.
