Met with them today. They are adamant that he do another year at year one and claim that the ministry date is for funding purposes only. There was no moving them, they say every school uses the same date which doesn't tally with what I have heard. I made it very clear why I thought it was a bad idea but there is not much I can do - even if I forced them the outcome would be bad. I am tempted just to keep them home when I don't work. I could change schools but it wouldn't help and it would be hard for my kids to change. Part of me hopes he makes them miserable so I can say told you so.
