The Nonverbal Ability Index is derived from the scaled scores of the two Fluid Reasoning subtests (matrix reasoning and picture concepts), and one subtest apiece from the other nonverbal clusters: from Visual Spatial, block design, from Working Memory, picture memory, from Processing Speed, bug search.

The GAI is derived from the two Verbal Comprehension subtests (information, similarities), and one each from Visual Spatial (block design) and Fluid Reasoning (matrix reasoning).

The tables for both of them are in the WPPSI-IV manual, which your examiner has. If you want a report for DYS, then you will need to go back to your examiner and get those additional Index scores included in your formal report.

Do you have all five primary index scores? Verbal Comprehension, Visual Spatial, Fluid Reasoning, Working Memory, Processing Speed. What were his Index scores like? If his VCI was weaker (from what you are saying), then his GAI is unlikely to be significantly higher than his FSIQ, and will probably be lower, as half of the subtests that comprise the GAI are verbal, versus one-third of the subtests being verbal on the FSIQ. He might have a better chance with the NAI, as that uses bug search instead of cancellation.
