We had a meeting several weeks ago at school with the principal, head of the district gifted program and DD's teacher. I sent an email out afterwards thanking them and going over the action points we discussed. (Never did hear why the gifted teacher didn't show up for the meeting, either. )
I have heard nothing back from anyone. In the meeting we discussed possible subject acceleration for reading and doing pre-tests on math units to see where DD was. So far nothing has happened. They are now in their second week of the actual reading curriculum and am concerned that if we are going to do this, we should do it sooner than later.
How long do I wait to see what their plan is and when it will be implemented?
I don't want to be one of "those" parents, but they aren't giving me much of a choice!
